The 2013 NFL Draft has begun! I am in heaven :) This is one of my absolute favorite weekend of the year, so I better get my work done during the day this weekend so I can watch as much of the draft as possible. Woot!

Weeks three begins
I got both of my quizzes done last night and passed them both, yay! Today we begin week three of this crazy sequence. Just three weeks left of ID and two weeks left of water polo for the year! That about all. Other than school I desperately need to clean my apartment and put together the hosting list for second look weekend. Nothing too exciting.

And the passport is off!
Life is really quite unexciting these days. I need to study a lot and I just don't feel like it wants to stick. The fact that the undergrads are in their last week of school is making me want summer to come for us too! But alas, we still have six weeks and ten exams to go (three of the weekends have two exams, including this weekend).
Today I spent catching up on lecture from when I was studying for last weekend's quiz, and then I spent my time studying drugs. I also somehow wasted a bunch more time. The drug info is coming along, but my biggest problem is remembering which bugs they work on, especially since there is overlap you you can't really rule out like I am used to. Hopefully I get it together and remember this stuff because I want to do well in the sequence!
Besides studying I got all of my documents together for my Ugandan visa and sent it off to DC this afternoon. I had to send in the application (which I am praying is all filled out acceptably), two photos which I took myself in my dining room against the white wall with the camera self timer and cropped (it actually worked great and saved me the ridiculous amount of money people charge for passport photos), proof of yellow fever vaccination, and a $50 money order since the embassy doesn't accept personal checks. Its amazing how frightening it is to put your passport in the mail. If I didn't have any stamps or visas to loose I don't think I would be nearly as nervous, but I sent it express overnight and included signature conformation, so it should be safe. Hopefully I will have it back the week after next with a fresh new visa inside, and oh how I love new visas and stamps!
In other news I am now halfway done with my typhoid oral vaccine. Its probably a good thing, because it forces me to stop eating after dinner because I can't eat for two hours before the dose or for an hour after, and I'm a bad study snacker.
I think I'm starting to get a little loopy and I'm going to head to bed. I just looked and next weeks schedule and freaked out that I had missed more class than I thought last week and that I had to watch more lectures, but I was just looking at the calendar wrong. Minor panic attack number two of the dayt after mailing away my passport. Silly, silly, silly. Goodnight!

Slowing down
The beginning of this week was absolutely CRAZY, but things are finally slowing down. I have taken my ID quiz from last weekend, I am getting on top of my host finding duties for second look weekend, I finished booking my summer trip (yay for camping through Zambia and Botswana!), and I got my vaccines and prescriptions today! The polio booster hurts, and the yellow fever vaccine hurts. So not fun, but I will live. I am doing the oral typhoid regimen just in case I decide to go abroad for a rotation 4th year. Then I won't need any shots, woo hoo! Other than that its same old same old. I still have a little catching up to do with lecture, but I know I am going to be okay. Night!

Big Ten Champions!
This past weekend I went down to Columbus, Ohio to play in the women's club water polo B1G Ten Championships. We played three games over the course of the weekend, and won all three meaning we are the B1G Ten Champions!! It is so exciting and also means that we are qualified for Nationals which is in just under three weeks. Overall it was a great weekend!
When I got back I had to get to business and catch up with everything I deferred for the weekend. I studied histopathology for a bit and was able to take that quiz late last night and got 100% on it! Woo! I am still working on studying for the Infectious Disease/Microbiology quiz that I deferred, and hopefully I will be ready to take it tonight.
This sequence has a lot of information and is a bit stressful, but I will get through it as always. I also have a lot of stress for Second Look Weekend stuff, but I will hopefully figure that out too.
Okay back to studying.

Iowa
This past weekend was both awesome and totally exhausting! I spent all day Thursday studying so I could take my CNS final, which I was able to take and did quite well on! Friday morning I cleaned, talked to my sister and my mom (and found out my sister is coming to Michigan yay), and then took my final anatomy practical exam, which I also did well on! Yay! With the completion of the practical I was officially done with the CNS sequence and off for the entire weekend, which was great because about an hour after finishing the practical I was off to Iowa! It was the longest drive I have ever been on, but it wasn't too bad. I drove the last section of the trip and then ended up being a driver for the weekend. I was really happy about that because I had the car keys and got to decide exactly what I did and when.
So the reason for my trip to Iowa... I went for a water polo tournament! We played Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State, and Michigan State and we won all four games, including beating Michigan State 9-1 which was amazing a the best way ever to end the weekend. Turns out too that one of the girls on the Ohio State team did synchro in San Diego and I totally recognized her like a creeper haha. Fun times. The drive home after the tournament was equally long, and my eyes hurts so so bad from the chlorine, but we got home before 11pm so I had a few minutes to get my act together for the week before I went to sleep.
This morning we began our infection disease/microbiology and histopathology sequences. Its going to be an intense five weeks of 8am class (eww). Here we go!

Written CNS final done!
I pretty much spent all day at school studying, but I am DONE with my CNS final! I did well too yay. I went to school around 10:30am and studied for a bit before going to our one hour lecture at 11am and then went back to study at the LRC. At 1pm I went to a mini review session for about an hour to ask questions of the professors in a super informal setting and then I did our practice practical for anatomy that had 210 tagged structures! 210!! Oh my goodness it took forever and was so draining, but at least we got to see most of the things that can be on the practical tomorrow. After that I basically went back to study for hours and hours and then I took my final! Now I just have to get ready for the practical and then I leave for Iowa tomorrow afternoon. So happy that I will be done with the sequence right after the practical so I don't have to think about school during the tournament this weekend.

Just about finals time again
Im back in full on study mode. My CNS final opens tonight and my LAST EVER anatomy practical is tomorrow with a super fun 45ish minutes of cranial anatomy and neuroanatomy fun times. I am hoping to get my written final taken tonight or early tomorrow because tomorrow after my practical I am hitting the road with my team and driving to Iowa for a tournament. Crossing my fingers that I get everything done and I don't have to use my deferral (which I already have all set up just in case) to take the final on Monday or Tuesday of next week!

Flight booked!
I booked my flight to Africa this evening! I leave on June 7th and get to California on August 8th just in time to head to the beach for my birthday. Can't wait to plan the rest of my trip. I will definitely be in Uganda until July 27th and then hopefully go to South Africa and maybe do a short camping safari tour. So much fun to look forward to!
