This week I started my Psychiatry rotation. It is incredibly different than every other rotation and sort of feels like the beginning of M3 year all over again. I am currently in the child and adolescent inpatient unit. I enjoy working with the kids, but it is definitely a sad rotation. I had a dream about someone committing suicide last night, so the rotation is already getting to me a little bit. I also have depression clinic every Thursday afternoon, so basically my mood is destined to be low for the next six weeks it looks like. It is very interesting, but I definitely couldn't see myself doing this for the rest of my life.
In other news, it's fricken cold here! I woke up to -9ºF weather this morning, which was super. At least I was going to East Campus, so I got to drive instead of walk. I am ready for spring to come quickly!! Tomorrow I get to sleep in, but I have to work tomorrow night in the psych ER. Should be interesting.
