Made it to Croatia

Last night I said goodbye to Jutta and family and caught the 8pm train out of Plochingen. A little panic ensued at the beginning of the journey because the first train was delayed, which meant I would miss my connecting train in Ulm, which messing I wasn't sure if I would be able to catch my night train in Munich! So much stress. Luckily I was able to find out that there was a regional train from Ulm to Munich that gave me just enough time to get to the night train, and I made it fine.

So entering the night train I was not too excited that I didn't have a bed and would have to sleep sitting up all night. On top of that when I got on the train I found out that the seat didn't even recline one inch, eww! Luckily no one else was in my compartment, so I was able to lay over three seats. A few other people shared my compartment at one time or another, but there was never more than two of us at one time, which was really nice. I didn't sleep very well at all, especially since every so often people would come in to check tickets, but at least I got a little sleep. The best part of the trip was that I got two stamps in my passport: one when we were leaving Slovenia, and one a few minutes later entering Croatia! So good.

I finally got to Zagreb about a half hour behind schedule and boy is it warm here. I got to my hostel just fine, but I can't check in for another 3 hours. So sad because I desperately want a nap! I also found out that today is a national holiday, so nothing is open which is a bummer, but I found a bike tour that I will do this evening (I didn't find it online until about 9:55am and the morning one starts at 10am). For now I am trying to recover from the insane lack of sleep last night and I may go walking a bit. Excited to take the bus to the lakes tomorrow!
