Tübingen

Yesterday I went with Jutta and her collegue Christa to a wonderful little town called Tübingen. Christa went to university there so she gave us a littel walking tour of the town and told me some really neat stories about different little places along the way. This town is the epitome of the Germany that I picture. It wasn't destroyed at all during the war, so it still retains all of its old charm and beauty, which I have found to be a rarity here. Don't get me wrong, the country is an exceptionally lovely place, but so much is retored and not oringinal, so it was wonderful so see a town like Tübingen! We did a little shopping and came across the most wonderful store that sold nothing but kitchen supplies. This type of store is a major weakness of mine. I probably could have purchased each and every item because everything was just that wonderful. Luckily I have the fantastic deterrent of having to carry all of my purchases from the trip, and I was able to make it out of the store with every dime I entered with. I can't wait to get some new kitchen stuff when I get to Michigan! I also tried a new German soda called Bionde at a small cafe we stopped at so Jutta could get a coffee. It was Ginger-Orange flavored and very strange. I didn't hate it, but I couldn't decide if I liked it either. For now I will just leave it in the category of "interesting."

When we got home I had another chance to do some relaxing and general hanging out around the house. I took the oportunity to download another TV show since I don't anticipate having such a reliable internet connection for a while (or at least I won't count on it). Since Jesko went to a friends house to spend the night it was just Jutta, Jette, and me for dinner. Jutta made a reallz traditional dish for this area (I have no idea what is it called but its sort of a mix between a dumpling, a wonton, and a ravioli and has onions with it as well) and it was VERY delicious. After dinner Jette decided to make some amazing cookies with some cinnamon sugar. She was just going to throw out the egg whites, so I decided to use them to make some meringues, though they turned out a little questionable. I think I cooked them a little wrong, but they still tasted okay!

This morning I had to pack up my backpack once again since tonight I will move on to a new place again. We are going to go to the Ritter Sport factory and make our own chocolate this afternoon (where I will pretend to be 18 because that is the upper age limit). I'm really excited and hope I can pull it off! It's been a wonderful trip to Neckartailfingen to visit Jutta, Jette, and Jesko and I'm so glad I got to see them! Hopefully it wont be five years before I see them again!

(Sorry mom for the sporatic posting the last few days, but I haven't been doing as much and it's a lot easier to be lazy here haha. Also, the keyboard here is different and awkward for me and there is no English spellcheck so please excuse the errors that are most likely rampant.)
A cute little house or shop or something
