Back to Work After a Lovely Mini-Vacation

This morning I tried to sleep in a bit, but since I was sharing my bed and I'm pretty congested I still woke up somewhere around 8am. I went out and had breakfast and just chilled for a bit because Joan was still asleep in my bed. I eventually needed to take a shower so I went back in and showered while she still slept more. When I was done with my shower her room was ready for her to move back into so I was able to get ready for the day in a most relaxing way.

Since I was really tired I hung out in my room for a bit until noon when we went into work for the day. Work was good and I worked on some excel spreadsheets for the screening logs for some of the papers one of the PIs is writing. It's not glamorous, but I kind of enjoy working with spreadsheets, so I was more than happy to do it. Everyone welcomed us back and it was great to see everyone at the office again. Some of the staff are now in a different building since the roof is being redone in the normal building, so that was new since we left.

After work Joan, Phidelis, and I went into town to do some things. I had to finally go to the bank (my ATM card is fixed yay) and i got a pineapple and a small flash drive to store my pictures on since somehow my extra memory card has gone missing. Luckily I have my computer so all my pictures can be uploaded and erased from the memory card, but should something happen to my computer I want a back up. Unfortunately I didn't think about the fact that my memory card is 4GB and the flash is 2GB so my photos don't all fit. I'm trying to compress them, but I'm not sure I will be able to back up everything. I'm hoping to not loose my computer though so it really shouldn't be a problem.

I ordered dinner tonight at Crystal Hotel and ended up with the worst pizza ever. The crust was still doughy. So unappetizing. I was surprised because we've had their pizza before and it was good. Oh well. I endured a bit of it and then gave up. I also got control of the TV remote for the first time tonight and couldn't find much to watch so I introduced the staff at the guest house to the embarrassing Americans of Toddlers and Tiaras. It was nice to watch some trashy TV for once here that isn't a poorly dubbed telenovela. Now I'm just going to get some sleep and hope my nose clears up!

  1. Of all the TV shows available why on earth would you introduce the Ugandans to Toddlers and Tiaras? That's truly embarrassing!
