Au Revoir Paris

We are now sitting in the Charles de Gaulle airport waiting to fly to Cork, Ireland. Out trip to Paris has been an absolute success and we have had so much fun! It is one of the few trips where I feel like I saw everything I wanted and needed to see and I'm ready to move on to the next location. We are also excited because Ireland will bring some much needed relaxation after the get up and go mentality we had in Paris. I am so exhausted and ready to sleep in and explore nature instead of walking all day and Dad is exited to start golfing. I her the weather isn't so great in Ireland right now, but hopefully it will clear up soon!

Out last morning in Paris was quite nice. We had the leftover palmiers from Laurent for breakfast and headed out to Sacre Coeur. It was raining and we had a minor catastrophe with my rain coat being stuck inside it's pouch with a broken zipper, the the magic concierge fixed it for me in mere seconds and we were on our way. When we got to Sacre Coeur we got the lovely pleasure of walking uphill to the cathedral. It was absolutely beautiful and had great views of the city, but dad wanted more! We decided to go up to the "Dôme" of the cathedral. This was no small task as it is 300 stone steps up and down, but the views were absolutely spectacular. You get a panoramic view of Paris from the top since you an walk all the way around the top of the dome.

After our done hike we stopped to grab a baguette with ham and cheese to eat for lunch and eased to the St. Germain area to buy some macaroons! I had found this place online so we decided to try it out. We got nine macaroons between the two of us: two lemon, two red fruit, a raspberry, a strawberry poppy, a fleur de sel caramel, a Ghana chocolate, and an orange. They were quite delicious! After purchasing the macaroons we headed back to the hotel to grab out things and we were off on our way to CDG. The train ride was uneventful and we got here quite easily. Check in, customs, and security were also incredibly easy so we have some extra time to kill before our flight.

So all in all Paris was amazing, but I'm excited for something new! I'll be back in Paris in a month and a half anyways for my Disneyland adventure!
