Today was a super chill day, but it was definitely wonderful. Dad went out golfing early and I ate breakfast with gram and gramps. After breakfast I caught up on my Glee episodes that I have missed, and they were fantastic! I heart Glee so much! Anyways, when dad was done golfing we went to lunch at Cornerstone down the street. We both order pork and leek bangers and mash which was superb.
After lunch I dragged dad with me to Moher Hill Farm, which I saw in a little booklet on the Shannon region. We arrived at the farm and dad was not exactly stoked to be there, but I didn't care! We saw so many cute animals and since it's the middle of spring there were lots of babies! The farm mostly had sheep and lambs, and a lot of them. There were white ones and black ones and multicolored ones, all of which were adorable. We saw a llama, miniature donkeys, a huge pig, a small pig, alpacas, red deer, goats (one who was particularly persistent and followed us around when we were near his enclosure), small soya sheep, peacocks, rabbits, chickens, emus, an ostrich, and best of all miniature ponies! We even got to hand feed almost everything!
Now, the miniature ponies were hands down my favorite, not only because they are small and freaking adorable (and I'm totally obsessed after their part in the Moulin Rouge), but these two ponies had baby miniature ponies! These weren't just any babies, they were just 4 and 7 days old! A less than one week old baby miniature pony who doesn't even have teeth yet has become possibly my favorite thing in the entire world, for now at least. This pony and his mama came right up to me and ate from my hand and the mama even let me pet her baby for as long as I wanted (which was quite a while). I probably could have sat and pet this amazing creature all day long, but dad would not have, so I had to say goodbye to my new BFF and move along eventually.
After the farm I was extremely content as I finally got to pet the animals is been seeing roaming in the fields by the side of the road for the past week. We hopped back in the car and drove back to the golf course because dad decided he needed to play yet another round of golf! I think he is nuts! So he went out and I waited around for about an hour until grandma finished her round so I could give her a ride back (even though it's really just a few blocks).
I grabbed grams bag and carried it to the car and we made the short drive back to the hotel saving her the walk. She wanted an ice cream so we grabbed a Cornetto at the Centra market and then walked around the tiny "downtown" area of Lahinch to shop a bit. She then went back to we room to get ready for her final dinner with her ladies MacKenzie group and I finished the last hour of Glee and watch some Top Model. Now I'm just waiting for dad to finished his golf and then we will go to dinner with gramps at Vaughn Lodge Seafood Restaurant. Tomorrow all four of us will finally spend the day together! Yay!
A little after dinner update: The dinner was absolutely amazing! I had the best cooked lamb ever and the veg (as they call vegetables here) were fantastic!! Another wonderful night.
