So I have arrived in Ann Arbor! My journey here was less than stellar. I sat on both planes (to Chicago and to Detroit) for an hour after boarding, so needless to say we arrived late. When I finally got to Detroit it took forever to get the gate checked bags, and when I got the the hotel it took three trips back down to the lobby before my key would finally work and let me into my room! After all of that I was pretty tired (since it was almost 1am!) so I got ready for bed and went to sleep (well, right after watching an episode or two of House Hunters). Time zone change was not dealt with properly and I finally fell asleep at 11pm west coast time.
Because of my stupidity and refusal to go to sleep right away, I didn't get out of bed until 10:45. I got my things and went back to the airport to catch the shuttle to the rental car. My car isn't that great. It does NOT have power windows or locks so there is a lot of manual cranking and lock pressing going on. Thank goodness there is functioning AC because it is 86ยบ here and I am HOT. Luckily it's supposed to cool down to the mid 70's tomorrow so I'll get a little break before the Texas 90's on Sunday. Anyways, I went to Art Van to look at furniture, went to Whole Foods for lunch, and the checked out the Kroger near my apartment (which I am happy to report is very nice!). I am now sitting in my hosts apartment killing time. Hopefully I'll go get some food soon cause I'm getting hungry, but once I leave I can't get back in here until after 9pm so I better be ready to wander!
Getting excited for Second Look weekend to start tomorrow and to finally meet one of my new classmates. I just hope I can sleep through this heat with no AC!
