Second Look Weekend

Spending the weekend in Ann Arbor absolutely reinforced that I made my decision to attend UM this fall is beyond excellent! The last two days were jam packed with different activities from meeting a few patients and hearing their stories to mock small group sessions and student panels. Everyone I met was awesome an I am positive I am going to have an amazing class! The best part of the entire weekend was the final event. We all got bused over to the Big House (which is the football stadium at Michigan) and had a fantastic lunch with alumni and a ridiculously funny speaker. I don't think I've ever been so entertained by a power point. He made his slides totally contradictory to what he was saying most of the time and even had slides that poked fun at himself. It was quite fun to listen to/watch. At the end of lunch they said that whoever had the closest birthday to white coat ceremony (8/5) got to take home the football on the table and I won since my birthday is only five days later! Yay! I never win anything so I was super excited! After the lunch we got to tour the Big House. They first took us up to the club level (Desmond Howard's Heisman was up there) where we had a great view of the whole stadium. It is really quite an impressive place. After that we got to go into the locker room, into the training room, and finally through the tunnel and onto the field! It was freaking awesome. We tossed around my new football and I got to score a touchdown. Thank goodness i actually caught the ball haha! I cannot wait to be watching games there this fall. Definitely a great end to a wonderful trip.

Now I'm at the airport and off to Texas for Molly's graduation! So excited to see her finally get her diploma, and happy she finally gets to move back to California! Texas is just too hot!
