So the last day has been quite jam packed (and had a lack of reliable wifi). When I arrived in Tralee I couldn't get ahold of Dad to pick me up. There were no Taxis and I had no clue whatsoever how to take the bus where I needed to go, or even if the bus went there. After a moment of minor panic I opened up my TripIt application ad found that the map of the hotel location was saved, and even better the location services function worked without the data being turned on so I could see where I was on that map! Needless to say that was a major lifesaver. Even though it looked like a bit of a hike I set out to walk from the train station to the B&B. Everything went incredibly smooth until I arrived at the location where the B&B supposedly was and it was nowhere to be found. At this point I realized that I only had the street the B&B was on and not the actual address! So basically I decided to just keep walking, and since I saw a sign to the Tralee Golf Link I figured I would eventually end up there (which it turned out was super far!). Just when I thought I would never find where I was going I found the Brook Manor Lodge. I was so so happy! The room was really nice and Dad showed up about 15-20 after I arrived.
After we unwound for a few moments we went out for a seafood dinner that was fantastic. The scenery was beautiful and the restaurant was super cute. After dinner we went to sleep!
So this morning when I woke up my throat was killing. Boo. Luckily it wasn't too distracting, so we set off to Waterville! The drive was along the Ring of Kerry and was amazingly beautiful. We arrived in Waterville right on time and I dropped off at the golf course before heading off on my own for the day.
I was going to take a trip to the Skelligs, but all the boats left before I could get there, so I just drove and saw some sights. I aware cliffs of Kerry, drove the Ring of Skellig, walked around in Waterville, and had some fish and chips before picking dad back up! We then went to a craft market where I got an Irish sweater and a scarf!
The rest of the day consisted of lots more driving on small windy roads that barely fit two lanes (and some don't even have two lanes for two way traffic, it's quite crazy). We drove from Waterville through Sneem, Killarney, back through Tralee, and eventually to Ballybunion, where we are staying for the next two nights. It's raining here and super windy so we'll see how it all goes! We had a lovely dinner at the Coast Cafe and now we are about to go to sleep. Night!
AND HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOM!!
