Paris, Day One

The train to Paris was fairly uneventful. We hopped on coach 8, where we were assigned, and had a wonderful few hours. The countryside between London and Paris was pretty (more so in France) but I fell asleep for the last hour of the ride. We ha a nice little meal on the ride and I ate my lion bat as well.

When we arrived at Paris Nord we had a hell of a time figuring out about Metro ticket "validation" bit came to the conclusion that it just meant putting the ticket in the turnstile type thing. That took a long time! We took the metro to near the hotel, but not near enough! We had to walk roughly one and a half kilometers before we finally found the place.

Once we were settled we headed out on a little journey. We walked up the Champs d'Elysee to the Arc de Triomphe, over to a little place called the corner cafe for dinner, down to the seine, across Pont de Concorde, and back to the hotel. I wish incould describe more, but we are thoroughly exhausted now and ready for a nice rest!
